11+ Prep
Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
In short: 11+ Prep keeps your child's details and progress on your device. It has no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. It sends us only anonymous usage counts (which you can switch off) and problem reports you choose to send.
Who we are
11+ Prep (“the app”, available on the web and for iPhone, iPad and Android) is published by Kwok Cheung Poon. Contact: [email protected].
Information kept on your device
The app stores the following only on the device you use it on, in the app's own storage:
- each child's first name (or nickname), avatar, school year and test type;
- practice scores, streaks, mistakes, revised notes, completed activities, saved writing and settings;
- calendar events and schools you add.
This information is never sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app, or using Settings → Reset progress / removing a child, deletes it. We cannot see it or recover it.
Problem reports
If you tap ⚑ Report a problem and press Send, the app sends us:
- the reason you chose and any comment you type (please don't include names or personal details);
- a copy of the question, note, activity or prompt you reported;
- the year level and test type selected, the app version and the platform (web, iOS or Android).
Reports do not include names, profiles, progress, device identifiers or advertising identifiers. Your IP address is not stored: to prevent abuse, a one-way hash of it, combined with a secret that changes every day, is used to limit how many reports can be sent per hour. We use reports only to fix mistakes in the app. They are stored with Cloudflare (our hosting provider) in its EU data region and are deleted automatically after 12 months.
Anonymous usage statistics
To learn which parts of the app are used and where it can be improved, the app sends us counts of:
- the days the app is opened, and how many days ago it was first opened on the device;
- which screens are opened, and how many practice rounds and mock papers are started, finished or left early (with the subject or paper, but not the questions, answers or scores);
- a few actions, such as finishing an activity or piece of writing, adding a calendar event or sending a problem report;
- with each count: the platform (web, iOS or Android), the app version, the year level, the test type and the number of children set up (1, 2, or 3 or more).
These counts contain no names, no device, user or advertising identifiers and nothing a child types. Our server adds each one to a daily total and keeps nothing else, so the totals cannot be traced back to a child or a device. Your IP address is not stored; the same daily-changing hash used for problem reports limits how much can be sent. Daily totals are kept with Cloudflare in its EU data region for up to 25 months.
You can switch this off at any time in Settings → Anonymous usage statistics. The setting applies to the whole device, and nothing more is sent once it is off.
Children
The app is designed for children preparing for 11+ entrance tests, used with a parent or carer. We do not ask for or collect personal information from children. Usage statistics are anonymous totals and are never used to profile a child. The report form reminds children not to include personal details.
Third parties
The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking code; usage statistics go only to our own server. Fonts are included in the app. If you add a link to a calendar event and open it, the linked website's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask about, or ask us to delete, information we hold. Because reports are anonymous we may not be able to identify yours, but tell us what you sent and roughly when, and we will do our best. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
